What’s even better is how quick and easy these double chocolate fudge cookies come together. 20 minutes, and that’s with a 3 year old making them (with a little assistance). This is definitely a go to cookie recipe in this house, though we have so many of them. This is also one of my husband’s favorites.

We really enjoy using all of our healthy ingredients to make all of our dessert recipes good for you. I don’t have to worry about my figure, and I don’t have to worry about my toddler’s diet with these amazing creations. I can rest assured that no matter how many he gets his hands on, he’s eating good food that’s healthy for him.

Start by adding all of your ingredients to the bowl, except for your butter and chocolate chips. I have a great helper, so I don’t have to do much at all.

In a small bowl, melt your butter and chocolate chips in small increments in the microwave and stir thoroughly until melted through and smooth.

These are the chocolate chips we use. Pour your chocolate mixture into the bowl and mix well.

Once all of your chocolate and other ingredients are mixed together well, gently stir in another half cup of chocolate chips.

Prep your cookie sheets with parchment paper and drop tablespoonfuls of cookie dough onto your prepared pans.

I ended up with two cookie sheets. And then we put them in the oven; my toddler his sheet and me mine.

Bake for 10 minutes and voila!

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour (2 cups white whole wheat)
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup coconut sugar
1/2 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt
1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips
2 eggs
3/4 cup butter, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and cover 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper. Set your chocolate chips and butter to the side. Mix all other dry ingredients in one bowl and all of your wet ingredients in another. Melt half of your chocolate chips and your butter in the microwave a little at a time, stirring every 30 seconds or so. Add this mixture to your wet ingredients and mix well.

Make sure wet ingredients are well mixed before combining dry and wet ingredients. Stir in remaining chocolate chips. Drop big tablespoons of cookie dough evenly spaced on your cookie sheets. Pop them into the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Let cool before eating.

So, our cookies aren’t perfectly round with the right number of proportionally laid out chocolate chips on top like all good recipes pictures should be. But that’s just this household. We don’t really care what our cookies look like as long as they taste wonderful. I hope this doesn’t bother you.

I love that these come together so quickly and easily and they are just filled with wonderful ingredients. My toddler requested chocolate cookies today and in 20 minutes we had them whipped up and ready to eat. Well…he did most of the work. I think we each ate 3 of them. They are so addicting.

So many people work so hard to avoid eating desserts, and don’t get me wrong, we eat absolutely no refined sugars or flours in this household. But you don’t have to avoid these for fear of breaking your diet or eating too many calories. Though I wouldn’t recommend sitting down and eating all of them at the same time.

They are filled with whole wheat flour, coconut sugar, grass-fed butter, and dark chocolate…all healthy foods that are good for your body. I can allow my toddler to eat as many as he wants without having to worry about a sugar high or spoiling his desire for other good foods. In fact, as we were making them he wanted an apple chopped up. And while they were cooking, he requested my Homemade Tomato Basil Soup. I truly love eating in this household. Everything is so yummy.
